Beyond Shelves: Immersive Tales is an event campaign that has been successfully held online in partnership with the Kingston Libraries on April 2nd 2021. The event involves the audience to be part of the beloved comic novel, V for Vendetta in an online platform, Zoom, where live drama comes to play. This campaign is created to promote the BBC’s 100 Novels That Shaped Our World Festival, adapting our strategies to connect with the audiences virtually despite the challenges of covid restrictions.
As a team, we were responsible to come up with the concept and concrete strategies for the event to be a fascinating experience for the audience. Me being the lead In-house designer, I was responsible to create desirable and eye-catching visuals.

"Beyond Shelves truly shows the powers that books have to resonate with us and the way libraries - even when buildings are closed - have the power to reach people and how stories connect us all.” Simon Savidge, Project Manager for the Novels That Shaped Our World Libraries Program at Libraries Connected.
“The restrictions COVID-19 imposes on a book based event has meant thinking outside the box. Therefore, being awarded this grant has been an excellent opportunity to do something fun and creative, to promote the library service and put on an event that engages local residents and builds partnerships with local creatives.” - Cllr Rebekah Moll, Portfolio Holder for Culture at Kingston Council.
